Here for You
Dear Neighbors,
By now you should have received our special mailer detailing the assistance being offered by two of our board members to all residents in the Lacamas View community in this time of great uncertainty and stress. This assistance consists of both help in running essential, out-of-the-home errands, as well as the offer to draw upon a supply bank of household goods being seeded by the HOA Board. If you are in need of either form of assistance, please call or send an email to one of the contact points on the mailer.
This mailer was the spontaneous inspiration of two of our board members, and motivated by nothing more than their desire to help those most in-need. Yet I must say I have been a direct beneficiary of their generousness, as in just the one week since it was mailed, I have already received multiple phone calls (a big deal in this age of low-commitment emails and texts!) from several of you thanking us for the letter, and either volunteering your assistance in turn, or else informing me that a neighbor- without the any prompting needed from us!- had already stepped-up and been helping them with essential, day-to-day needs.
In times like these, with such unprecedented disruptions to our daily lives, I think the sharing of such stories of kindness and community-mindedness is a help in and of itself. I also think it is important to point out that much of life continues to go on as normal. Yes, even now your HOA Board is still signing documents for title companies as real estate continues to be bought and sold, and is still looking into tree height issues as nature beings to bloom again, people look out their windows, and think to themselves- "hey, what's happened to my view!" 😃

Annual All-Members HOA Meeting Cancelled
Dear Neighbors,
We hope you are doing well and are safe in these difficult and frightening times. The City of Camas notified us this week our reservation of the community room in Fire Department Station 42 was in danger of being unilaterally withdrawn, but even before then your Board had come to the determination not to hold our annual All-Members HOA Meeting at this time (for the record, it was scheduled for April 1, 7pm-9pm).
While our annual All-Members Meeting is a great chance to catch-up and meet new neighbors, given the extraordinary COVID-19 situation, we felt the benefits did not justify the risks, especially as most other essential community services have already been suspended to fight the spread of this disease:
In the meantime, we encourage you to keep sending your issues to the HOA GMail account, to keep reading this blog, to make use of community resources like municipal and governmental websites, neighborhood-focused social networks like Nextdoor.com, and to keep in touch with neighbors, family and friends.
Stay safe, keep informed of new developments and precautions, and we hope to see you again in person in happier times.

- March 11th, the State of Washington prohibited public gatherings of over 250 people
- March 13th, Camas schools were closed for the next 6 weeks
- March 14th, the Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries announced the closing of all libraries through at least the end of March
